This townhouse has more kitchen space than many single family homes. While square footage wasn’t the challenge, the existing layout in this long galley kitchen underutilized the space. We extended cabinetry the full length of the long wall, relocating a HVAC vent into the toe kick and removing soffits for additional height. Now there is a large pantry cabinet, built-in refrigerator, under-counter beverage frig, and 15’ of counterspace. The client requested we incorporate light, painted cabinetry and blue accents while keeping the existing natural oak hardwood. We installed Cambria Bristol Blue on the countertops and Daltile Fabric Art on the backsplash. By cutting the 12” x 24” tiles to 12” x 18”, there is an uninterrupted visual and minimal grout joints. A brushed nickel finish for the faucet, pulls, and backsplash listello border finish off the cool ambiance of the kitchen.
