Our clients considered a kitchen renovation for more than a decade before attending one of our remodeling and design seminars. Our approach gave them the confidence to move forward. Their existing kitchen was the typical U-shape, with a peninsula separating the kitchen from the eat-in area. By redesigning with an L-shape, we gave them the ability to move about the work space efficiently. Replacing the kitchen table with a countertop height island also provided another work space as well as seating for four. The island’s furniture-style design is the centerpiece of the new kitchen. Another key feature is a wall of tall for their pantry, wall oven/microwave, and refrigerator. Two cabinetry finish options (white paint and stain), two countertop options (Cambria Blackwood and Cambria Bellingham), and a backsplash with a herringbone accent bring interest and beauty to the space. The project scope also included updating the main level flooring with Armstrong’s American Scrape in hickory and refreshing the powder room with all new fixtures and a patterned hexagon tile.
