After years of living with small rooms—a separate kitchen, dining room, and living room—our client was ready for openness. Our team removed multiple interior walls to create one large space, with an 8’ island as the centerpiece. To ensure harmony, hardwood floor was added throughout. We sanded and finished solid oak, then applied an on-trend stain of brown with hints of gray. The maple cabinetry is a mix of a dusk stain balanced with a pale gray paint. We selected Cambria Bellingham quartz for the island, with the calmer Cambria Torquay for the perimeter. The backsplash tile in smoke, charcoal, and white, along with oil rubbed bronze finishes, add the final touches to the kitchen area. The existing fireplace was refaced with coordinating porcelain tile to complete the update.
