Rob Menefee
President | CEO
FA Design Build and Flooring America are locally owned and operated by the Menefee family. The flooring business began in 1979, and Rob launched FA Design Build in 2004 based on his vision of providing flooring clients with full-service remodeling. Today, FA Design Build is a design build firm specializing in interior residential remodeling and serving clients throughout Northern Virginia. Rob’s management track record and more than 20 years of experience in the local flooring and construction industries ensure the company’s growth and commitment to customer service.
Rob takes a proactive approach to serving his community by supporting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and organizing golf outings benefiting Youth for Tomorrow, a Johns Hopkins program providing long-term housing for young cancer patients. His love of sports extends to coaching, for the baseball team at Flint Hill School, and playing golf, most frequently at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria. Born and raised in Fairfax City, Rob attended Fairfax High School and graduated from Mary Washington University. He and his wife Mari have three daughters.
Melissa Fielding

Melissa loves to share her energy, knowledge of design, and tenacity to work through all design concerns on every project. Combining her bachelor’s degree in interior design with her design eye, cabinetry expertise, space planning, and interior remodeling experience, she helps clients create beautiful and unique spaces. Melissa, her husband Shaun, their three daughters, and fluffy pup Thumper reside in Lakeridge.
Nate Ayala

Nate is continuing his family legacy of home design and construction. With a professional background in design, planning, and an extensive knowledge of all things construction, Nate loves helping his clients turn their homes into more livable and enjoyable spaces. He installed kitchens and baths for many years before turning to countertop fabrication and eventually found what he loves most, designing new spaces for his clients. Nate grew up in Fairfax County, one of 5 kids. He loves cars, coffee, and a good steak.
Kelley Knight

Kelley brings enthusiasm and 25 years of interior decorating experience to every project. Her unique ability to discern the perfect colors and textures ensures each client receives a beautiful and unique space, regardless of budget or square footage. Before joining FA Design Build, Kelley successfully launched her own interior design company, with residential and commercial clients in the Dallas area. Kelley resides in Manassas and enjoys spending time with her family.
Edwin Ayala

Edwin is a Northern Virginia native and has extensive knowledge in the construction and remodeling industry. He installed kitchens and baths for six years in his family’s business before joining the production team at FA Design Build. His role is vital in our daily operations — from ordering and delivering jobsite materials and coordinating installations, to assisting our Project Managers on every project, he keeps our daily operations running smoothly (and always with a smile). Edwin loves spending time outdoors hiking, camping, hanging out at the beach and is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Robbie Wickline

Robbie has been around the flooring industry since he was a child, his father was one of our best and most requested installers. He evolved from being an installer in his teen years to a CFI certified installer at the age of 21. Robbie has been with FA Design Build for over 15 years, eventually becoming in charge of our Production team. His extensive knowledge, professionalism, and leadership bring added value to the Design Build team. He meets daily with our project managers, coordinators and field technicians to discuss every project to ensure the installation runs smoothly. Robbie was raised in Fredericksburg and loves playing guitar, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
